Poem: I’d sip coffee….

I don’t need to hear from you every second of every day,
because God only knows there’s only so much you can say.
I’m a sucker for the little things like a good morning text,
and maybe a sweet reminder of when I’ll see you next.
I don’t need pretty flowers, though they’d be nice once in a while.
And I’m not in a hurry for things like a wedding and a child.
I don’t need to be wined and dined and I don’t need fancy dates.
I’d like someone to sit across from me and sip coffee till it’s late.
There’s nothing more important to me than good conversations.
Or someone to sing along loud with me to my favorite radio stations.
Being tall isn’t a requirement but it sure would be nice.
More important though you need to be able to handle both my sugar and my spice.
I want someone who wants to go with me and travel the world,
and one day after that settle down and have a boy and a girl.
Now, I’m not in a hurry to get all of these things,
but it would be nice to share experiences before we exchange any rings.
Your 20’s are your selfish years and they’re for living,
but I’d like one day to bring you to thanksgiving.
I want to know all of your wants, wishes and dreams,
and I want you to come with me and watch all my favorite sports teams.
Now, I know a good woman never waits for a man,
but I can hold making all my life plans.
I don’t know who you are or where you’ve been,
and one day I hope to be your best friend.
